Radiumtec was founded in 2003 by a group of computer science professionals who saw the potential grow in systems usage due to the expanding penetration of common cell phones.
In those times we developed for the integration between banks, commerce and users via sms and panic alerts systems using only basic but effective technologies broadly available to almost everybody.
A little later, smart phones and the JavaME technology evolved in such a way as to allow us the developing of much more complex applications, not only for the smart phone platforms. As the true potential was in the capacity of inter systems communication, we turned to the enterprise market too because the newer applications implied a considerable increasing on data traffic and the newer processes required a more efficient design.
The range of possible applications was expanding allowing us to integrate cell phones even in SCADA systems for engineering purposes, mainly because we realize they were a cheap, portable and very reliable means of conveying information to centralized processes.

For this company, we design, develop, implement and support two systems intended to be used in Bolivia and Honduras each one.
The Bolivia system involved a fully configured client with functionality, behavior and screens configured on the fly by data loading in the client starting process. The protocol used for communication client - server was a generic one suited for allow a great generic transactional form.
The client hardware was an Mobiware MP2 JavaME compatible, but as there is no printing standard for the platform and the original implementation that comes with the equipment was not enough, we develop a graphic driver for the client application.
The Honduras solution involved client and server development in order to substitute an SMS based system with a much more complete protocol http / https.
The basic functionality was the same as the previous system, but the more powerful solution was used for a much improved and rich message system that involves, self configuration, printing and transaction verification system.
For client part solution, was used at first JavaME technology with an option to migrate to Android OS using a better POS machine. On the server part, the technology used was a JavaEE container solution with communication with or own transaction system backed by relational databases, and an external web services communication with existent Tigo systems.

In order to be system compatible with their parent company British American Tobacco, Bigott company had to change its Sales system with a new version based in JavaEE / Servlets, using a standard relational database as storage mechanism.
